Expect delays due to lane reductions on I-5
Roadway work is starting for the I-5 and SR 548 California Creek fish passage project. Starting Tuesday, May 26, near milepost 267 between SR 548/Grandview Road and Birch Bay-Lynden Road there will be lane reductions on I-5 in each direction. Expect daily lane reductions through Friday, May 29, as WSDOT crews build a bypass lane between the lanes of northbound and southbound I-5.
This is the first of many lane reductions and closures to come. WSDOT will post details weekly on the project web page. WSDOT is starting on I-5. This work will continue for a couple of months before they move on to Zell Road, then the SR 548/Grandview Road and Portal Way intersection later in July and August.
