Enjoy a festival, join a fun run, tour an interpretive site, or just make your own celebration with a family picnic or camping trip. Choose from dozens of activities and events throughout the year. You can submit your state park event via email to get it placed on the calendar. The Discover Pass is required for vehicle access to Washington state parks and state-managed recreation lands.     Visit Cama Beach and Camano Island State Parks for a digital treasure hunt!

    Designed similar to existing geocaching activities, Adventure Labs will guide you through the parks as you solve questions using physical features within the landscape.

  2. Solar Wind

    August 21, 2021, 8:30 PM - 10:00 PM @ Camano Island State Park

    Join us for a unique and artistic evening presentation about our solar system at the Camano Island State Park amphitheater.

    Using planetarium software, huge 3D projections of slowly rotating planets will be accompanied by abstract images and a kinetic live soundscape.

    Composer and visual artist, Rob Angus, will create a sound field of ambient acoustic sounds that will slowly circle the audience while astronomer Eric Muhs narrates and describes the solar system imagery.

  3. The Night Skies Talk and Star Party

    August 28, 2021, 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM @ Camano Island State Park

    Join Bob Scott from the Island County Astronomical Society at the amphitheater for a presentation about astronomy a slide show of astrophotos!

    After the talk, head down to Lowell Point near the boat launch for a Star Party with Bob and other astronomers.

    During the Star Party, the astronomers will point their telescopes at interesting objects in the sky. If the skies are clear, you may see the following: Jupiter, Saturn and its rings, the Summer Triangle (Vega, Deneb and Altair), the Milky Way, the Big and Little Dippers, Polaris, and possibly the constellation Cassiopeia, the Andromeda Galaxy. Also visible will be galaxies, open clusters, globular clusters, planetary nebula, bright nebula, dark nebula, double stars, carbon stars, variable stars, and various colored stars.

    All ages are invited to participate. Bring layers. Weather dependent.
