You can submit your state park event via email to get it placed on the calendar. The Discover Pass is required for vehicle access to Washington state parks and state-managed recreation lands. Deception Pass State Park

  1. Guided hikes

    Park staff will lead a family-friendly, hour-long, .9-mile hike along the North Beach Trail, during which hikers will learn about the Deception Pass forests. This one-way hike leaves from the West Beach Amphitheater and ends at the North Beach parking lot. Visitors may leave a car to shuttle or hike round trip. People of all ages are welcome. Fort Worden State Park

  1. Timber Framing: Building a Structure

    You’ll be part of a team joining a frame for a moderately sized structure, yet is complex enough for you to fully understand the historic design and building processes. We're looking for a partner in the Port Townsend area who would want to sponsor a timber frame that we can build as a team. If you are interested in sponsoring a timber frame to be built in this course, please let us know. The design may be fixed by the time the class starts, but we will walk you through the design and materials selection process.

  2. Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Workshop

    The Port Townsend Acoustic Blues workshop is held at Fort Worden State Park, one of the Pacific Northwest’s most stunning and inspiring landscapes. Participants can stay in dorms and eat in the Commons (a gathering place at the center of campus where local, sustainable foods are prepared by artisan chefs). The teaching artist-faculty also stay in housing on the Fort Worden campus, lending that family gathering feeling that makes this week more than just a workshop.

  3. Beginning Digital Design and Fabrication

    This class is for those new to computer numerical Control (CNC) or at a beginner or early intermediate level. Through a series of structured lessons and projects, students will explore several core CNC design and machining techniques, including computer-made designs (CAD), cutting file creation (CAM), tool operation, and material holding techniques. As part of the process, students will create their own designs for some of the projects and use the CNC router to cut them. Students will leave with a workbook of project tutorials and digital fabrication concepts as well as inspiration to explore new projects.

Joemma Beach State Park

  1. Beach walk

    Get to know the unique animals that inhabit the intertidal zone with biologists and volunteer naturalists! The walk is suitable for all ages and will last approximately 60 to 90 minutes. Please dress for the weather - boots and footwear that can get wet are recommended. Look for volunteers and naturalists wearing blue.
