You can submit your state park event via email to get it placed on the calendar. The Discover Pass is required for vehicle access to Washington state parks and state-managed recreation lands. Cama Beach State Park

    A Park Ranger brings cool stuff out to a table in front of the historic store and interacts with guests on what the items are and how they were used. Items that could be on the table include: a whale rib, red tail hawk (stuffed), a beaver (stuffed), whale lice, and many other items the Ranger thinks are cool.

  1. Junior Ranger activities and ceremony

    Children ages four and up may turn in their completed Junior Ranger booklets and become Washington State Parks Junior Rangers during a special Junior Ranger ceremony. Park staff will host activities at 10 a.m. Ceremony starts at 10:30 a.m. br>
    The self-guided Junior Ranger program encourages children to discover the natural and cultural wonders of Washington through exploration, games, volunteerism and creative activities. Junior Ranger booklets can be picked up at any Deception Pass program or in the park office.

  2. Discovery Center hands-on activities

    The Discovery Center offers hands-on activities. Located in a historic Civilian Conservation Corps bathhouse at Rosario Beach, the center plays host to tidepool specimens, microscopes and more. The Discovery Center is sponsored by the Deception Pass Park Foundation.

  3. Volunteer stewardship events

    August 4, 2019, 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM @ Welcome booth

    Park staff will host weekly stewardship events for volunteers. Activities include beach cleanup, invasive species removal and more. Please check in at the welcome booth or look on the Deception Pass Park Foundation’s website for location. Bring gloves, water and snacks.

Fort Worden State Park

  1. Timber Framing: Building a Structure

    You’ll be part of a team joining a frame for a moderately sized structure, yet is complex enough for you to fully understand the historic design and building processes. We're looking for a partner in the Port Townsend area who would want to sponsor a timber frame that we can build as a team. If you are interested in sponsoring a timber frame to be built in this course, please let us know. The design may be fixed by the time the class starts, but we will walk you through the design and materials selection process.

    The Port Townsend Acoustic Blues workshop is held at Fort Worden State Park, one of the Pacific Northwest’s most stunning and inspiring landscapes. Participants can stay in dorms and eat in the Commons (a gathering place at the center of campus where local, sustainable foods are prepared by artisan chefs). The teaching artist-faculty also stay in housing on the Fort Worden campus, lending that family gathering feeling that makes this week more than just a workshop.

    The Washington State Parks Folk and Traditional Arts Program invites the public to the annual International Concerts on the Border Series at Peace Arch Historical State Park on the U.S.- Canadian border in Whatcom County.
    Chaopraya Ensemble performs Thai classical and folk music and a wide range of dances, from lively regional folk to graceful court dances. The core members of Chaopraya have performed together for 35 years, with a focus on preserving Thai music and dance heritage for younger generations. Members play traditional Thai instruments including the ranaad ek (an intricately adorned wooden xylophone played with mallets), khlui (a flute-like wind instrument), chakhe (a three-string floor zither), khim (a hammered dulcimer), and saw duang (a two-string instrument played with a bow).
